IN THE GARDENS

The volunteers are back! Tuesday and Thursday sessions have restarted. The Tuesday group meets at 9:00am in the Rhododendron Garden for weeding, removing blackberries, planting new rhododendrons and other plants, and enjoying a coffee break with sweets. Last week the group planted colorful varieties of hellebores, some of which are shown above. Hellebores are a favorite, early blooming plant, opening up in late winter. The Thursday group meets at 1:00 pm on Thursday afternoons in the Native Plant Garden. They are at work preparing the garden for spring by weeding, clearing leaves, and planting seeds. Both groups have returning folks that welcome newcomers warmly.

IN THE FOREST

The Friends of Hendricks Park is funding restoration and renovation of the saddle area this Spring, thanks to generous donations from our members. Members of the Board are meeting with others on Saturday morning March 7th at 9:00 am for a work party to prepare the site for the new features. Come if you have the time and interest to help us with this project.

YOUR SUPPORT

Member generosity allows us to continue working with volunteers, the City of Eugene and outside contractors to enhance Hendricks Park.  We welcome new memberships and donations at any time.
