Western Trillium
Some of our most familiar and well-loved wildflowers bloom in April. Western trillium (Trillium ovatum) is among the first. Unmistakable with its three big leaves and solitary pure white flower, it glows like a beacon in Hendricks Park’s forest, where it is particularly abundant. The flowers fade to pink or red as they age.
