Rosy Plectritis (Plectritis congesta)
Plectritis congesta (Valeriana congesta) is a species of flowering plant in the honeysuckle family. It is known by several common names, including rosy plectritis.
It is an annual herb, growing from 4 in. up to nearly two feet tall. It has widely spaced, opposed leaves that are oblong and smooth-edged, and it blooms in dense clusters of flowers in shades of pink to nearly white in late spring.
Rosy plectritis is native to western North America, ranging from British Columbia through Washington and Oregon to southern California. It is a common plant in coastal and inland forests, seashores, and mountain meadows.
In its many habitats it can be found with Oregon Iris (Iris tenax).
